Southern Railway invites online applications from interested Applicants for engagement as Act Apprentice against the 4373 slots notified for training in the designated trades under Apprentice Act 1961 at various divisions, workshops within the jurisdiction of Southern Railway for the year 2018-2019.

Educational Qualification: Must have passed 10th class examination under 10 +2 systems or its equivalent with minimum marks in aggregate.
Must have passed ITI Course in relevant trades from a recognized institution.
Must have passed +2 with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (for MTL only)
Age: The candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 22/24 years for Freshers/ Ex-ITI, MLT Respectively.
The Upper age is relaxable by 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 10 years for person with disability (PWD).
Application Fees: Rs 100 (Non-Refundable) Fee is to be paid through Online Mode. No fee is required to be paid by SC/ST/PH/Women candidates.
Selection Process: The selection will be on the basis of Merit List prepared in respect of all the eligible candidates who apply against the Notification. The Merit List Will be prepared by the Committee nominated for this purpose by following the procedure mentioned as under.
a) Fresher Category: Marks obtained in Matriculation will be converted for 200 and merit list will be drawn based on the converted marks duly ensuring Minimum 50% in aggregate marks in Matriculation. b)Ex ITI: Marks obtained in Matriculation will be converted to 100 marks + ITI marks duly converted to 100. Total Marks put together will be calculated for 200 marks and merit list will be drawn based on the converted marks giving equal weight age to both. c)MTL: Marks obtained in Higher Secondary will be converted for 200 and merit list will be drawn based on the converted marks duly ensuring Minimum 50% in aggregate marks in Matriculation.
